50C 1889 PCGS PR66+

This coin is a real borderline PR67!

Using a powerful glass the ONLY thing we can find is a tiny planchet flake that looks like a dot hidden in a field. Otherwise, the mirrors are super deep, have great clarity, are clean overall, and are boldly reflective. Phenomenal electric colors of ORIGINAL royal blue (which frames the peripheries) open into mild pewter/burnt orange/magenta colors that are even all over. Miss Liberty and the details frosted and have full strikes. We do grade the reverse full PR67. The eye appeal is beautiful!

ONLY 711 were ever minted. PCGS 10, NGC 16, CAC 1. PCGS has only graded 3 coins higher while CAC has only beaned ONE coin higher. This coin last sold in a major auction for $5,463.00 11/2011 Heritage. The one PCGS/CAC PR67 would cost you at least $15,000.00+ (if it ever becomes available). We do think this coin represents excellent value-especially long term.
