An 1872 MS 3CS piece ranks as one of the “stoppers” for the series. This coin is SUPERB all over!
Clearly and MS, this coin beams with a full glowing luster. The surfaces are semi-prooflike and do reveal lots of light die striations (ALL Mint made). You can even see some light clashing. Both sides are a creamy white that have a faint hint of gold. Every detail is very well struck. The eye appeal will give you goose bumps!
ONLY 1000 were ever minted. PCGS 5, NGC 6, CAC 4. PCGS has graded only ONE coin higher (which is locked away in major collection). Hard to believe, we can NOT find ANY records of a PCGS piece ever selling in major auction. We cannot stress how extremely important and RARE this date and grade are.
