This coin is an R-7 (4-12 minted). It is a regular design Seated Dollar struck in Nickel! The wisdom used to be that Patterns struck in aluminum were rare-NOT! Its the patterns like this struck in Nickel that are really rare!
Surprisingly deep, clear, super clean, and boldly reflective mirrors beam from all over. There are ZERO imperfections of ANY size ANY where. The color is a light ORIGINAL golden brown/deep nickel. Not one single spot can be found even when using a strong glass. Miss Liberty and the details are frosty and have full strikes. The eye appeal is seriously fabulous!
PCGS 1, NGC 0, CAC 1. We are pretty sure this is the second finest known (the Simpson Collection has the better coin). This coin last sold in 08/2011 for a ridiculous $18,400.00. you can’t even buy a regular PR66 1870 for that!
