We only bought TWO patterns at the show-this 1866 Nickel (R-6 (31-50 minted) and a possibly unique R-8 G $1 in aluminum for a collector. There were not a lot of really nice pieces too choose from.
Superb in every respect! This coin has deep mirrors that are super clean, clear, glass like and have bold reflectivity. There is a slight hint of frost around the peripheries. Every detail is needle sharp and has frost. There are NO specks or problems. The eye appeal is superb plus!
PCGS 2, NGC 0, CAC 1. The last one to sell in major auction was NOT CAC and brought $6,756.00 06/2013 Stacks. Opportunity certainly does know loud here. A regular design 1866 5C PR66 CAC CAC would sell for about $5-$6,000.00. The Judd book values a PR65 at $7,500.00. This piece is not overpriced (in our opinion).
