Can’t say we have seen many example of this date in PR65 or better in the past few years. Really SUPERB pieces like this coin are hard to find. Unless you are unrealistic, you will love this coin!
Very deep, clear, clean, and highly reflective mirrors beam from allover. if you are super picky and have a super powerful glass-you will see two pinpoint toning dots HIDDEN at 1:00 on the obverse. A natural light layer of toning keeps the ORIGINAL Mint red color from fading. Every detail is needle sharp in strike and has light frost. The eye appeal is terrific!
ONLY 600 pieces were ever minted. PCGS 8, NGC 7, CAC 2. Here is a really WILD stat: except for this coin recent sale, there have been NO 1868 PR66 RD pieces in auction since 03/2005! THAT’S RARE!
