This coin is basically “as struck”. It has simply mellowed over its 161 year existence. The mirrors are absolutely strong, deep, crystal clear, clean, and do offer good reflectivity. No question the color is an ORIGINAL moderate chocolate brown/pale olive/pale blue. Miss Liberty and the details are needle sharp in strike and actually appear 3-D with a little bit of frost. The eye appeal is amazing!
It has been estimated no more then 60 pieces were ever minted. Not that many survive. PCGS 4, NGC 4, CAC 3. NO PCGS PR66 BN piece has EVER been sold in a public auction.
