$1 1883 HAWAII PCGS MS65+ EX FORSYTHE

True GEM HI Dollars are rare. We estimate that there are no more than 15-25 total in existence (if that many). Recently, the world class Forsythe Collection of HI coin was sold. With the exception of the Damon estate about 6 years ago, there have been NO other massive collections of HI coins known (although we think there is one in HI). Once these coins dribble off the market, collectors will have no more chances to buy any. GEM Dollars have appeared only Once every 2-3 years! We are pleased to have purchased one of the FINEST MS Dollars from the Forsythe Collection.

This coin would grade higher if it were a Morgan! There are a few scattered and very teenie lines on the surfaces-but they do not distract (you really need a glass to see them). A full booming luster really brings out the best of the pretty (and ORIGINAL) colors of golden brown/blue/russet. Every detail is sharply struck and has thick frost. The eye appeal is really like the quality-exceptional!

PCGS 10, NGC 9, CAC 2. This is the ONLY MS65+ graded by PCGS or NGC. Prior to the Forsythe coins selling in 2011+2012 a PCGS/CAC example (probably the same coin) sold for $23,000.00. Prior to that in 2006-2008 one was floating around at a slightly higher level. Collectors universe values these around $40,000.00. We think these should be $30-$40,000.00 as well. This coin is NOT your average MS65, it is clearly worthy of its MS65+ designation!
