Hard to imagine how this coin has survived for over 200 years with out being banged up or messed with. It definitely is a HIGH END MS64!
Crisp, smooth, super clean,and satiny surfaces adorn both sides. Even using a strong glass the most you can find is a scattered light line (there are NO real ticks). A strong luster shows off ORIGINAL “old time” toning of pewter/soft golden brown colors. Miss Liberty and the details are exceptionally struck. The minor flatness on some start is “as struck”. The eye appeal is excellent!
PCGS 49, NGC 74, CAC 4. The last 1812 to sell in auction brought $4,945.00-and it was a NON CAC piece! With this date you can find a lot of marginal and even lots of drecky coins. Finding one as nice as this is really hard!
