This is a R-5 (31-75 Minted). It is a HOLED center 1C Pattern made in aluminum. No question, it is the FINEST KNOWN (occasionally we let one by pass Simpson)!
This is a monster coin well worthy of status. The aluminum is brilliant and has deep mirrored reflectivity. There are more problems on the holder than the coin. You can clearly see the hand perforated centers. Every detail is crisply struck and has bold frost. The eye appeal is sensational!
PCGS 1, NGC 0, CAC 1. In 08/2011 this coin auctioned in Stacks for $5,750.00. If a nice PR68RB 1884 existed, it would sell for much more. We just can’t see the long term downside for a coin like this. Plus, not many patterns have ever graded PR68 Cameo!!!!
