Just because a coin was minted after 1900 does not mean it can’t be exceedingly rare in Choice or GEM condition. This is a real 64.9 piece that is the second finest known!
Cover up the O, and this coin looks just like any 1901 P (its not PL like an 01S would be). The surfaces are satiny and are amazingly clean. Only when using a strong glass can you find a few hidden ticks. A super strong luster shows off totally ORIGINAL yellow gold color. No question this coin has never been messed with (so important). Miss Liberty and the details are frosty and have full strikes. The eye appeal is great!
PCGS 11, NGC 7, CAC 3. We’re not so sure the pop in MS64 is correct. This is the ONLY MS64+. The ONLY coin graded higher by PCGS-an amazing MS66.
The pops make a powerful statement as to how these do NOT come-CHOICE or GEM. After 25+ years of operations and not a single MS65 has been graded-thats a tough coin! We can not stress enough the extreme rarity of this coin in 64 and higher. We certainly are strong buyers for an MS65 or the MS66!
