$3 1865 PCGS AU55

Have not seen or owned a really nice one of these since 2008! They are hard to find nice like this (messed with pieces are so common)!

Both sides are satiny yet have traces of semi prooflike mirrors. There are a few very light scattered ticks, but no major hits or problems. A strong luster also shows off beautiful pale orange/deeper orange gold colors. There are NO spots or stains. Miss Liberty and the details are well struck and have light frost. The wear is very light. The eye appeal is terrific!

This is one of the quiet “stoppers” for the series ONLY 1140 were ever minted. PCGS 11, NGC 9, CAC 3. We cannot stress enough what a great “put away” piece this is-even if you do not collect the $3 series.
