This piece is a R-& (4-12 minted) which was struck in aluminum.
Yet another beautiful design of a coin that was not to be. First, the planchet has only minor roughness (very common for the metal). Using a strong glass, only a few light lines can be found. Overall, the surfaces are clean. The mirrors do have good clarity and bold reflectivity. Miss Liberty and the details are fully struck and do have thick silvery white frost. The eye appeal is super!
PCGS 2, NGC 0, CAC 1. Way back in 2004 one sold for $12,219 ANR (we do NOT believe it was this coin). We know of only two other examples-the Simpson and Denali pieces. Opportunity knocks loud here if you collect 20 cent or any patterns. Seashores are not something you see often at all.
