$1 1798 PCGS AU58 B-15 BB-112

We do not buy many Bust Dollars because we can’t find nice ones. When we do buy them, we assure you, they are either totally superior or are borderline the next grade up. This SUPERB GEM AU coin is both!

From the recent Hesselgesser Sale (we did not like most of the coins in it). It is one of the few that did CAC. We were blown away by the coins intense booming luster. Also its unquestionable originality. Everything else about the coin is great too! The surfaces are clean and are smooth. Any wear is light and you need a glass to see it. There are NO discolorations. The color of the coin is a mixture of lavender/pewter/pale tangerine and is quite lively and lovely. Miss Liberty and the details are actually frosty and have really great strikes. In fact, if it were just a little more struck up, it could be a MS61. Its still a really great looking Bust Dollar!

PCGS 8, NGC 20, CAC 1 (the only other CAC’d AU58 for any 1798 variety is a wide date). We paid $19,265.00 out of the Hesselgesser Sale. Prior to that, a NON CAC coin sold for $17,825.00 05/11 Goldberg. We can only find possibly 5-6 coins finer. CAC has really helped the GEM AU Bust Dollar market separate the dreck. Ture GEM material does indeed trade for strong premiums. Opportunity knocks loud for any serious Bust Dollar enthusiast!
