J- 206 1858 PCGS PR65

$5,750.00

This is a R-5 (30-76 minted). It is a smaller Flying Eagle obverse and regular reverse. The metal is copper nickel.

No question this coin is totally ORIGINAL and has NEVER been messed with. Typical for the date, the mirrors are moderate and have a satiny look. There are ZERO impairments anywhere. The color is a beautiful even reddish golden brown. Every detail is lightly frosted and has a needle sharp strike. The eye appeal is fabulous!

PCGS 2, NGC 0, CAC 2. Do NOT be fooled about its rarity. The last PCGS coin to be sold at a major auction was back in 1997! An NGC coin sold for $5,750.00 1/09 Stacks. The Judd Book lists it at $6,000.00 in 65. A regular PR 1858 in PCGS/CAC PR65 would WHOLESALE for $17,500.00 minimum. We purchased this coin from a long time Pattern Collector who in our opinion has one of the best eyes. So no matter how picky you are, this coin WILL please you!
