This is a R-7 (4-12 Minted). It is a Longacre Dollar pattern struck in copper. The originality is amazing!
When we typically see these bigger pattern in RD, usually the colors are faded and the red is really brown. Not so here! First, this coin has amazing deep, crystal clear, super clean, and incredibly reflective mirrors. There is not an ounce of dullness anywhere. The color is a 100% GEM ORIGINAL FIERY MINT RED. Miss Liberty and the details are frosty and have sharp strikes. Only some light and well HIDDEN lines keep this coin from a PR65RD designation. The appearance is so great your eyes will pop out!
PCGS 1, NGC 0, CAC 1. There are NO auction record for this coin. The Collectors Universe price estimate is $27,500.00. The Judd book lists a 63 at $21,000.00 and a 65 at $35,000.00. We know one thing for sure, you NEVER EVER see these with so much life!
