No question this coin is a borderline PR67. It has the look and quality!
Under a strong glass we see a line that is either a die line or thin scratch-that’s what keeps this coin from PR67. You have to tilt the coin to see it. Both sides have deep, crystal clear, super clean, and highly reflective mirrors. An even coating of ORIGINAL pale purple/blue color is spread all over (the colors are NOT dull). Miss Liberty and the details are fully struck. The eye appeal is terrific!
ONLY 727 minted. PCGS 1, NGC 0, CAC 4 (all). This piece has never been in auction. the last PR 66 (non CAC) brought only $4,313.00 back in a 2008 Heritage sale. This piece certainly is worth much more than that!
We are VERY bullish on all PR 65-67 Barber coins. You might want to look into building a set of them as they are some what affordable-and most important-completable!
