With a only 2000 pieces minted, finding fully prooflike examples like this is not surprising. The mirrors are deep and have great clarity. Only using a strong glass can you see a few ticks scattered about. There are NO major hits. The color is a pretty deep gold. There are NO spots or stains. Miss Liberty and the details are heavily frosted and have full strikes. The eye appeal is spectacular and does remind you of a proof!
PCGS 2, NGC 4, CAC 2. PCGS has graded one MS65 higher and that’s it. We purchased and placed the only other CAC specimen in MS64 (an NGC coin) for $37,375.00 at the Heritage 2011 Fun auction. There are ZERO auction records for any PCGS coins. The great rarity and potential of this date in GEM can NOT be overstated.
