This date is second in rarity only to the 1854S. The mintage is 2,824 pieces. There is only ONE MS known (an NGC MS67 Monster coin). There are ONLY 6 possibly known in all grades of AU-that’s extremely rare. Auction appearances over the last 10 years are even rarer.

Traces of prooflike mirrors beam with a strong luster from both sides. A few MINOR ticks and lines can be seen ONLY with a strong glass. The color is an ORIGINAL vibrant medium gold. There are NO spots or discolorations. Miss Liberty and the details are frosty and have full strikes. The eye appeal is excellent!

PCGS 2, NGC 0, CAC 1. PCGS has only graded one AU58 higher (which is the highest graded CAC too). We cannot stress the extreme rarity for this date-in ANY grade (PCGS and NGC combined POSSIBLY have graded 16 coins total)! The last one to sell in major auction brought $35,650.00 09/2006 Superior.
