Identical to any PR Large Cent you have ever seen. This coin is an R-5 (31-75 minted). It is struck in bronze. At the time the Mint was thinking of making a large 3 Cent piece and this was one of the final designs that made it to testing.
This coin is absolutely a PR64RB+++. PCGS showed it no mercy. The surfaces are exceptionally clean. There is a minor planchet chip in the right obverse field-but you need a glass to see it. Both sides have strong, clear, clean, and very reflective mirrors. The color has about 40% original Mint Red with the balance light golden brown. Miss Liberty and the details are needle sharp in strike and appear boldly. The eye appeal is incredible!
PCGS 4, NGC 0, CAC 1. The last one of these to sell in major public auction brought $2,990.00 07/2007 B+M. A 65 brought $8,900.00 in 2009. Take our word on it, these are NOT common coins that appear often!
