J- 236 1859 PCGS PR64BN

$3,250.00

This coin is an R-5 (31-75 minted). It is unquestionably a VERY highend coin. It is also still in its older green tag holder (this coin has been off the market for many years).

Crisp and totally GEMMY surfaces adorn both sides. There are NO visible problems. With a glass all you can detect are minor die polishing lines. The mirrors are decent-as we have NEVER seen one of these with anything stronger. The color is a beautiful chocolate/pale blue. Miss Liberty and the details are pinpoint sharp in strike. The eye appeal is phenomenal!

PCGS 13, NGC 9, CAC 2. The last PCGS PR 64BN to sell in auction brought $2,415.00 11/08 Superior. The Judd book is $2,550.00 in 63 and $4,500.00 in PR65. A regular design silver 1859 50C in PR64 would cost you about the same as this coin (and of course it has a higher mintage and pop). These are not as common as the pops may lead you to think!
