The years have proved that 11S is NOT a common date. Its gets even rarer in MS66. We knew we had to buy this coin after we viewed it!
Like most 1911S’s this coin has that typical satiny/semi matte like surfaces. Unlike most other 11S’s this coin is incredibly clean and emits a powerful booming luster. There are NO spots or discolorations-and this coin is totally original. Miss Liberty and the details are frosty and have bold sharp strikes. The eye appeal is tremendous!
PCGS 24, NGC 34, CAC 4. PCGS has graded only ONE coin finer. You also know CAC isn’t not going to freely sticker just any GEM Saint-even if its a common date (they probably went over this with a neutron microscope).
The last one of these to sell in major public auction brought $13,800.00 09/08 Heritage. But an NGC coin brought $14,950.00 in 2009. Regardless, this represents a tremendous opportunity for anyone who buys better Saints in GEM!
