This amazing GEM is from our “Deal of the Decade” Collection. We have handled some of the finest PR Two and Half Dollar gold pieces that exist (including 3 NGC PR69’s) and can tell you this coin ranks at the very top for the series! No BS that PCGS was unbelievably tight and should have at the very least designated this coin a +!
The ONLY imperfection we can dig up (and we had to use a strong glass and really search) is a HIDDEN planchet chip at 3:00 on the obverse. You can NOT see it with the naked eye. Otherwise, both side have totally flawless, sleek, icy clear, and powerfully reflective mirrors. There are NO spots or stains. The color is a beautiful light original gold. Miss Liberty and the details are pinpoint sharp in strike and have thick brilliant frost. The eye appeal will make your jaw drop and lock!
PCGS 3, NGC 17, CAC 1. The last one of these to appear in auction brought $34,500.00 in 2007. Remember, this coin was hidden away in the desert since 1995!
