50C 1902 PCGS PR67

This is one of the BEST 1902 Proof Barber Halves we have EVER seen! And we have handled two others. What separates this from the rest: it IS VERY high end and is a killer coin!

We think the ONLY reason this coin is not a PR68, PCGS probably did not like the slightly mottled toning. In our opinion, the toning only covers about 40% (if even of the coin). Its moderate navy/golden brown/pearl. The mirrors are as crystal clear, super deep, perfectly clean, and reflective as we have EVER seen on an 1902. In fact, if this coin were dipped, we think it could be a monster cameo-and maybe even a PR68 (we do NOT recommend dipping it-an upgrade is NOT guaranteed at all). Miss Liberty and the details are needle sharp in strike and have light silvery frost. For an 19092, this coin is NOT dark or dull. The eye appeal is awesome!

Only 777 were minted. PCGS 5, NGC 14, CAC 4. The last 1902 to sell in major auction brought $8,913.00 B+M 09/08. PCGS just will not flex on its standards, so we doubt there will ever be even a dozen in PCGS PR67 (most come dark and dull). If you are a collector of PR Barbers (or anything that does not appear often), opportunity just can’t knock any louder!
