Sadly, High Reliefs suffer not only from gradeflation, but they are a favorite target of coin doctors. To find one like this that is high end, not messed with, and is accurately graded-is more of a feat than you think (and a VERY sad statement about how lax the services had gotten).
At first glance the stunning “deep dish” appearance blows you away. As you study the coin more, you will find NO impairments anywhere. In fact the surfaces are slightly satiny and have a strong luster. The color of the coin is an even gold. There are NO spots or discolorations. Miss Liberty and the details are the way you expect them to be on a High Relief-fully struck. The eye appeal is awesome!
