Not a “commoner” date or grade by any stretch. The last time we owned one of these was back in 2007. This coin was nice enough that it stood out in box we were looking though. That was an important first step!
Only under a powerful glass can you detect any hints of rub. Calling it a Super GEM AU is NOT over describing the coin. There are NO spots or discolorations. Both sides have very light lines-but NO major ticks or problems. A surprisingly strong luster and traces of prooflike mirrors also show off original yellow gold color. Miss Liberty and the details are frosty and are fully struck. Its special to find a non abused piece like this. The eye appeal is fantastic!
PCGS 14, NGC 41, CAC 2. As time goes on, you’ll realize just how special this particular piece is (especially when you see all the dreck that’s out there).
