$2.5 1914D PCGS MS65

This wonderful GEM came to us from a dealer who was breaking up a major collection he had just purchased. The quality is high end and it is still in its original green tag holder.

At first glance, this coin could be mistaken for a commoner 25D in MS65. The surfaces are smooth and are remarkably clean (there is one small tick on the reverse). Both sides show off a strong luster which brings out the prettiness of the ORIGINAL deep gold color. All of the details are lightly frosted and have exceptional strikes. The eye appeal is great!

Disregard the pops on this date. We have seen at least 6 that are less than desirable. There are NO coins graded higher (save for one NGC MS67) so we think most of the pops are submissions from a coin or two. PCGS 39, NGC 32, CAC 2.

NOTE: Legend placed the ONLY other 14D that is CAC’d (a PCGS MS65) in major collection in 2008. This coin was NOT in any recent auctions-or any auctions period (that we are aware of). It is truly a “fresh” coin!
