$5 1911D PCGS MS64

$65,000.00

While many numismatists have felt the 1909O is the key to the $5 series, anyone who has built a choice/GEM collection knows the 1911D is the real silent stopper. THIS IS ONLY MS64 WE HAVE EVER OWNED!

Besides being incredibly rare, this particular coin is a true BORDERLINE MS65! Only one VERY tiny tick on the cheek and maybe a few scattered ultra teenie lines are all that could keep it from MS65 (you need a glass to see them). If it were a ‘common” date, it would be a MS65. The luster is surprisingly strong and brings out the beauty of the light two tone color scheme. There are NO spots or discolorations. EVERY detail is sharply struck and has light frost. The eye appeal actually is beautiful!

DO NOT be fooled by the coins pops-this is an EXTREMELY RARE date in MS64 and higher. PCGS 12, NGC 17, CAC 4. PCGS has graded TWO MS65 and that’s it (An MS65 IS A $250,000.00++ coin today). Just compare that to the far more expensive 1909O in MS64 (pop 10-the last PCGS one SOLD for $175,000.00 B+M 2006). We can not stress enough the importance of this piece. We doubt you will ever see a better MS64, let alone see ANY MS64! NOTE: the last record of one selling in auction was from 05/2008 Goldberg where the coin sold for $50,600.00. From what we understand, this coin has NOT been in any auctions. Opportunity does not just knock, it explodes here!
