3CN 1882 PCGS PR68 CAMEO
$6,950.00
Why do the 3CN’s never get any respect? Yes, the mintage can look scary high-but in the end the survivors are not even a huge % of the mintage. These are over 100 years old and are an obsolete denomination. These are not bad looking coins and you can complete a set of them. Still, they seem to ebb and flow in terms of demand. Right now, demand is slacked (which is when people should be buying).
We always buy cool coins-no matter what they are. We have owned many of the PR68 Cam’s that exist (all dates) -including a few we have owned multiple times (like this one). On a coin like this, the quality and eye appeal are too nice tp pass up!
Take hours and examine the surfaces of this coin with the most powerful glass you can find. You will NOT see ANY problems ANY where. The mirrors are satiny, deep, and have surprisingly strong reflectivity. A very subtle hint of gold can be seen on both sides. Miss Liberty and the details are fully struck and have terrific thick creamy white frosting. The eye appeal is fabulous!
Even though 3100 were minted, not that many survived in the higher grades-especially in cameo (even in PR67 there are only 55 graded by PCGS). PCSG 4, NGC 2. CAC 1. We think these coins are grossly undervalued in today’s marketplace. Back in 2005, coins like this were selling for $14,000.00! We hate to bring that up, but how else can we make our point. Today is a tremendous time to build an PR67/68 set. These coins are affordable! That won’t last forever-opportunity knocks as loud as it can here.
