J-339 50C 1863 PCGS PR64BN
$4,450.00
This neat copper trial piece is an R-6 (14-30 minted). We think the timing and romance of this piece are so neat (think about it, this coin was made right smack in the middle of the Civil War)!
There is one small and well HIDDEN scratch that keeps this coin from a full PR65 designation (although the coin is still in its old green tag holder). Both sides actually have real mirrors that provide good strong reflectivity. A light mix of chocolate brown/green/blue/red/violet can be seen. Miss Liberty and the details are fully struck. The eye appeal is pretty neat!
PCGS 4, NGC 2. Only PCGS has one in PR66BN. There are possibly 4 graded by PCGS in PR64RB as well (with NONE higher), The rarity, history, and coolness of this pattern are just too neat! You certainly cannot go to a major show or auction and find one!
