Sadly, Morgan Dollars have been one of the most abused areas of gradeflation over the past several years. Not only have regular MS pieces been hit, but we’ve never seen more NON DMPL’s being called DMPL’s during that time. Fortunately, the crazy days are over. We doubt you’ll see many more flimsy DMPL’s ever graded.

Full 8″++ mirrors are crystal clear, VERY clean, and have powerful reflectivity. When you tilt the coin, the mirrors shine is so strong they do appear “jet blacK” (that is a term for those who do nto know). Miss Liberty and the details are what you would expect from a monster DMPL, fully struck and heavily frosted a bold snow white. This is NOT an MS65 in a 66 holder. When viewing this coin you MUST wear sunglasses! The eye appeal is most memorable too.

Fact: the majority of MS66 DMPL’s are leaving the US. The Japanese have been loading up with them for the past 5 years or so-and NONE come back home! All they care about are the mirrors and the frost-they really do not know much about if the coin is really a 66. So do NOT expect to see many offered as time goes on. And, definitely do NOT expect to see many with CAC stickers (CAC has “old fashion” standards on DMPL’s). Until you’ve been to 4-5 major shows, you will have no idea how bad MS65 and higher DMPL’s can come. Opportunity DOES knock loud and hard here!
