10C 1861 NGC PR66

$2,150.00

As many of you know, 1861 is one of our favorite years to collect in proof. We just think there are fewer pieces than believed to exist.

What a jewel this piece is! incredibly flashy and crystal clear mirrors are totally problem free-save for a teenie lint mark in the left obverse field. They look like a freshly made sheet of glass. A beautiful mix of watery blue/pale violet/purple/green swirl evenly on both sides. Miss Liberty and the details are fully struck and do have light frost. The eye appeal is outstanding!

1000 pieces were minted, however it is estimate about half survive (we think even less do). PCGS 3, NGC 10. The last one to sell in major public auction brought $1,898.00 07/04 Heritage. Think about it, that was 5 years ago! That proves this is not an easy date and grade to find.
