When we first saw this coin, we knew we had to own it. The coin is the perfect ‘storm” (for lack of a better thought) of quality and eye appeal.
Nearly flawless surfaces are satiny and smooth on both sides. In the upper right field where it looks like there are issues, its really just toning dots. The luster is crazy strong and shows off a gorgeous mix of pale gold/very faint russet. Miss Liberty and the details all have amazing strikes. Interestingly, if you look at the coin with a glass, you will see the stars are doubled or recut on the left side of the obverse. The eye appeal is great!
This coin is tied for the FINEST with one other PCGS piece out hiding somewhere. PCGS 2, NGC 1. There are NO major auction records. No doubt this Superb GEM will be the star of any great collection.
