25C 1862S PCGS MS63

$8,250.00

This piece is so high end even we resubmitted it seeking an MS64. We do not know why PCGS insists on grading this coin an MS63 (we inspected this coin thoroughly. There is no guarantee it will ever 64, but it sure does have the look!

Incredible surfaces are satiny and have virtually no marks anywhere. A moderate mix of pewter/lavender colors cover the obverse while the reverse is purple/burnt orange colors. The luster is weak on the obverse but pretty strong on the reverse. Miss Liberty and the details are fully struck. This coin has lovely eye appeal.

We know that this coin has been off the market for many years in a dealers personal collection. We did NOT buy it from any auction, nor has it been one anytime recent. Before we resubmitted it, it was housed in an older green tag holder.

PCGS 5, NGC 5. Both PCGS and NGC each have possibly graded 2 MS64’s-the only coins finer. The last MS63 62S to be in auction was back in 07/07 Heritage where it realized $7,475.00. This coin really does not move in price when the market runs-it moves in price each time one appears as they are so rare! If you are a picky Seated Quarter specialist, this is a coin you will not want to miss because of BOTH its Ultra High End quality and its extreme rarity.
