There is nothing not to madly love about this awesome specimen. It certainly was worthy of being in the Naftzger Collection!
There are so many positives to this piece (and NO negatives). The surfaces are incredibly clean, smooth, and have a mind boggling full booming luster. The ONLY thing we think that keeps this coin from an MS66-the stars are weakly struck (which has to do with the variety). Interestingly, the obverse of this coin is a gorgeous chocolate w/hints of red. The reverse is brown/aqua green color (probably from lying on felt). Otherwise, Miss Liberty and the other details are well sharply struck. The eye appeal is tremendous!
The rarity of this tremendous coin can NOT be overstated: PCGS 4, NGC 1. Only PCGS has one coin finer (an MS66BN). In our opinion, at the price we are offering this piece at, it is a “no brainer” STEAL! Remember, this is an absolute GEM from the BEST Collection ever! And the coin is from 1835!
One last note: Naftzger himself graded the coin MS65 on the paper flip that comes with the coin. Opportunity does not just knock-it offers the chance of a lifetime here!
