An interesting coin in that there is heavy die clashing on both sides. We generally do not see that on $3 pieces. Still, it does NOT affect the grade or appearance.
This piece has just a few teenie ticks visible because the luster is so intense. It may have been lightly dipped long ago. The color is a blazing yellow gold. There are NO spots or discolorations. Miss Liberty and the details are well struck. The eye appeal is excellent!
Only 5000 pieces of this rare Civil War date were minted. PCGS 12, NGC 70.
