J-0299 1863 PCGS PR66BN EX LEMUS

$2,750.00

This is a R-3 (201-500 minted). The quality borders on PR67!

We could not resist this ULTRA HIGH END coin. We think the only reason it did not PR67-a very tinny mark on the cheek (visible only w/a strong glass). The surfaces are pristine. Both sides have decent mirrors that re completely covered by a bold chocolate/pale violet colored toning. Every detail is razor sharp in strike and stands out boldly. The eye appeal is tremendous!

PCSG 7, NGC 0 (we do have the NGC insert). None have been graded higher.

What a great value this is. Its doubtful there were 500 minted. Even if there was, to be able to buy a coin from the Civil War era in such perfect condition for LESS than $5,000.00 just seems cheap. You certainly can not go to every show or major auction and see any other GEM’s offered. We also think it is critical to note the last PCGS PR66 BN that was sold in auction-was back in 1992! Even NGC’s (until this piece came along) had seen any sell since 2007. One last note: A REGULAR PCGS PR 66 LAST SOLD FOR $4,140.00 in 2005 while an NGC coin sold for $3,450.00 in 2008. There definitely is fundamental value here!
