This coin is totally unbelievable! The ONLY thing we think keeps it from an MS68-the MINT MADE die clashes. We believe PCGS saw this coin on a day when they simply would not grade MS68’s!
Everything about this coin screams MS68. Even though die clashing is strong, the surfaces over all are flawless. A bold and beautiful mix of pale rose/forest green/champagne/golden brown colors swirl on both sides. An intense headlight type luster also shows off the remarkably struck features. The eye appeal is HUGE for such a smaller coin!
PCGS 2, NGC 1. Quite possibly the FINEST KNOWN 1854 3CS that exists! There are NO auction records for this date+grade.
