PCGS has VERY strict standards for all its early copper. On issue is that all coins MUST have original surfaces. You really do no see many messed with PCGS early copper coins.
Both sides are very clean and smooth to the naked eye. Only under a strong glass can you find some minor planchet imperfections. There are NO discolorations and just a few teenie toning spots. The color is a mellow chocolate with strong hints of ORIGINAL Mint RD. Miss Liberty and all of the details are well struck. The eye appeal is excellent!
PCGS 8, NGC 13. Neither service has graded ANY higher in BN. The last one of these to appear in a public auction sold for $1,265.00 11/08 Stacks.
