An amazing coin that has us shaking our heads as to how it has survived in such a killer state of preservation for over 208 years! This is not a weak or so/so coin-its all there and then some!
From across the room you can see this coins amazingly struck features. Miss Liberty and all of the details are crisp, sharp, and boldly stand out. The lack of the metal in the top part of the R is clearly visible to the naked eye. both sides have a surprisingly strong luster that shows off the extra clean surfaces. A moderate color mix of original lavender/pale blue/champagne colors is evenly spread about. The eye appeal is amazing (as is the quality)!
This is a VERY rare major variety. PCGS 6, NGC 5. PCGS has graded just one 65 (last sold in auction for $80,500.00 1/08) and one 66 higher. There are NO auction records for any Libekty selling. The last REGULAR 1800 to hit a major auction was back in 2004 and that coin sold for $27,600.00 Stacks. Opportunity knocks loud here!
