$1 1869 PCGS MS65

Our biggest claim to fame has been assembling the all time finest ever MS Seated Dollar Collection for our partner (The Legend Collection). We have seen it all and handled it all when it comes to the best MS Seated Dollars that exist. This coin has always been one of our all time favorites. When the collector who owned it changed his collecting direction and offered it to us, we jumped at the chance to reacquire this GEM. Its rarity and beauty are unmatched!

This is a wholly prooflike piece. The mirrors on both sides are dramatic and provide tons of flash and luster. A few light lines/scuffs are visible, however none detract from the grade or eye looks. A light band of purple/auburn frames the peripheries, Miss Liberty and the details are heavily frosted and have exceptional strikes. The eye appeal is absolutely PHENOMENAL!

The great rarity of this coin is undisputed. Even though it is not noted on the holder, this is the ex Rudolph coin (Stacks 1999). You will go many years before you see another GEM MS 1869 $1 as the others are all impounded in great collections (Legend did place the other PCGS MS65). PCGS 2, NGC 3. PCGS has graded 2 in MS66. Also, it should be noted that especially in the 1860’s-W/M GEMS are every bit as rare as most No Mottos. We are pleased to own and offer this precious piece that once its gone, you won’t be able to duplicate for years!
