In our 30+ years as full time dealers (ugh), we do not recall ever handling more than 3-4 Spanish Trails with any real color other than the dull stuff. this coin isn’t a wild colored monster, but it DOES have light peripheral pastel like colors.
The quality is all there too. Both sides are above average in terms of cleanliness and luster. A beautiful swirling mix of pastel like gold/pale violet/pale blue colors appear on the peripheries. All of the details are fully struck and stand out boldly. The eye appeal is stunning! This is NOT your typical Spanish trail.
only 10000 pieces were ever minted. PCGS 85, NGC 78. The last coin to sell in major public auction brought $3,738.00 11/07 heritage. We doubt it had any color like this! A perfect coins for a colored high end set.
