J-0191 1C 1858 PCGS PR63

$3,950.00

BRANDON COLLECTION. This is a R-5 (30-75 pieces were minted). Not as “common” of a date as you might think.

Just a teenie fleck or two can be located under strong magnification. Ditto for a teenie light line or two. To the naked eye, the coin looks VERY clean. Both sides do off strong, clear, and flashy mirrors. All of the detail are sharply struck and appear boldly.

This is far rarer than a regular PR FE, and far cheaper (a PR63 1858 FE would cost at least $6,500.00). Here you have the same coin save for the fact the reverse is the new 1859 design. PCGS 5, NGC 3. The last one to sell in a major public auction brought $3,220.00 in 06/06 Heritage. These just seem like a good value all around.
