We think some ultra light and really invisible hairlines are what is keeping this phenomenally good looking coins from full GEM status (you can only see them w/a glass). The surfaces to the naked eye are incredibly clean and have decent mirrors. Both sides are unquestionably original and share in swirling colors of medium brown/pale violet/blue. There are ZERO spots or discolorations. Miss Liberty and the details are incredibly struck and do stand out. No matter how picky you are, there is nothing not to LOVE about this GEM!
PCGS 1, NGC 0. PCGS has one higher in BN while NGC has 2 higher. The last one to sell in a major public auction brought: $4,370.00 07/03 Stacks-and it was NOT this coin!
