Proof Large Cents in GEM are definitely something you do not see at every show or in most major auctions. This small group we were fortunate to acquire is spectacular in terms of BOTH quality and eye appeal. We couldn’t be any more pleased to own and offer these 3 exciting coins.

After looking this coin over and over and over, we really can’t find anything wrong to keep it as a PR65. We assume PCGS is just skittish about grading these. Absolutely PERFECT surfaces have surprisingly decent mirrors and luster. Keep in mind, PR Large Cents do NOT have mirrors like 1880 PR Halves. The color is an ORIGINAL deeper chocolate/pale navy/pale violet and is even. There are ZERO stains or spots. Miss Liberty and the details are amazingly needle sharp in strike. The eye appeal is tremendous!

ONLY 100 pieces were minted. The rarity of this date in GEM is undeniable. PCGS 1, NGC 3. ONLY NGC has 3 coins in PR66 BN. We can’t stress enough how UNDERVALUED we feel ALL GEM PR Large Cents are. here too, opportunity knocks loud!
