Yes, we are are really copper weenies at heart. We LOVE these early 1C in MS. ALL of the Naftzger coins were the best of the best. We felt this coin was one of the better values of the recent Naftzger sale. We had purchased this coin for a customer who just traded it back to us.
We can not for the life of us see why this coin is only an MS61. It is struck on a problem free, smooth, and semi satiny planchet. There are NO spots or stains. Both sides are not banged up. The color is a beautiful moderate ORIGINAL chocolate brown that allows hints of luster to permeate. Miss Liberty and the details are amazingly struck. The eye appeal is spectacular! We can’t imagine how this piece has survived for 203 years untouched! Even if you do not like lower graded coins, you will not mind this-as it really does look much better than a MS61!
