$5 1853C PCGS MS64

$69,500.00

EX: BAREFORD COLLECTION. To begin, even in the circ grades, coins like this are NOT available in much quantity at all. Very few have popped up on the shipwrecks. So, to find a pristine, UNMESSED with GEM is a rarity that we strongly believe is overlooked in todays market.

Too many pieces like this have been messed with. Very few are as totally ORIGINAL and PRISTINE as this coin. It has NOT been stripped or dipped. Both sides are smooth, very clean, and have a surprisingly strong luster. There are even hints of semi-prooflike mirrors. The color is an beautiful orange gold. Miss Liberty and the details are sharply struck and have light frost. This piece’s overall quality is far better than most commoner dates we’ve seen in MS64! Its eye appeal is PHENOMENAL!

65000 pieces were minted. The pops speak volumes: PCGS 1, NGC 3. In MS61-64 over the past 20+ years, PCGS/NGC have ONLY possibly graded 27 coins! It is no secret that many of the NGC coins were “conserved”. It is our strong opinion, that due to the abuses of telemarketers, the so/so grading of many pieces, that any TRUE GEM like this is incredibly rare. We believe hugely historical coins like (the finest, from an obsolete southern mint, and totally quality oriented), should trade for MORE than $100,000.00 . You will never see any hoards. Opportunities like this will not come along much as time goes on!
