J-0470 5C 1866 PCGS PR65

$4,675.00

This is an R-6 (14-30 minted). Great looking Washington design.

Deeply mirrored surfaces are clean and have a faint hint of toning. Under a glass, the planchet does seem to have light pitting-but that is how it was made (they probably used left overs for the trial strikes). Washington and all of the details are sharply struck and have light frost. The eye appeal is wonderful!

Yet another cool 1866 5C Pattern you don’t see offered often. PCGS 5, NGC 1. PCGS and NGC combined have graded only 3 pieces finer. The rarity is far great than a regular PR 65 example (mintage 200) and those sell for about $3,500.00. This coin definitely is not a bad value at all. If you collect Patterns or Nickels, this coin will be a wonderful addition to your collection!
