Having handled all of the finest known Trade Dollars and most of the PCGS GEMS, we know what these coins should look like. And yes, 1874 does come a little nicer-but this coin looks as good as many full MS65’s we have ever seen!
PCGS showed it NO mercy by grading it only an MS63. There are a few LIGHT and mostly invisible lines and ticks scattered about. The surfaces have a tremendous booming luster and prooflike mirrors. The color is a creamy white with faint hints of gold. Mis Liberty and the details are exceptionally struck and are very frosty. There i no way you can’t love the way this coin looks (especially since its ONLY an MS63). PCGS 23, NGC 20. PCGS has graded ONLY 7 coins finer.
