$1 1889 PCGS MS-65 DMPL
$3,950.00
If this coin had just a little more contrast, it probably would be worth $25,000.00! The mirrors are a full 8″+ deep and have amazing clarity for the date (there is a faint hint of milkiness). This is highly unusual for an 1889. There are just a few trivial teenie ticks scattered about-none that affect the grade (this definitely is NOT a 64 in a 65 holder). Miss Liberty and the details are well struck (you can see hints of a rusted rev die). There is a decent amount of silvery frost visible. The overall eye appeal is great. We do NOT believe the current pops are correct. This is not a date you see often in GEM DMPL. PCGS 31, NGC 14. CAC is extra critical about what DMPL’s it stickers-and this one made it easily!
