10C 1897-S NGC MS-65

This is by far our biggest “ouch” we’ll have taken on a coin under $10,000.00 all year. We PAID $7,500.00 for it raw and graded it a lock MS66. Oops, missed some light lines. However, this coin sure does have a 65+ look. It has been in both PCGS and NGC MS 65 holders twice (sorry, no tags). Both sides are strongly prooflike. Only under a powerful glass can you see any light lines (even then you have to tilt the coin). A mellow mix of champagne/golden brown/blue colors evenly swirl on both sides. Miss Liberty and the details are exceptionally struck. The eye appeal is wonderful! PCGS 7, NGC 4.
